
Thiruvananthapuram: The financial fraud case, in which M C Kamaruddin MLA was involved, will be examined by the Assembly Committee on Privileges and Ethics.
This was decided on the basis of a complaint filed by Trikaripur MLA M Rajagopal. Over 100 complaints have been registered against MC Kamaruddin in various stations. A financial scam worth Rs 130 crore has surfaced against him.
In the complaint filed to the Speaker, M Rajagopal MLA pointed out that an MLA being accused in a financial scam is a violation of the code of conduct and demanded appropriate action.
Following this, the complaint was handed over to the Committee on Privileges and Ethics headed by M Pradeep Kumar. The committee examines matters like code of conduct violation, lapses and unduly behaviour on the part of MLAs.
