Thiruvananthapuram: As the controversy over his autobiography gets boiled up, CPM central committee member and former LDF convener EP Jayarajan has initiated legal proceedings against DC Books, the publishing house which has announced the release of EP’s autobiography titled ‘Kattan Chayayum Parippu vadayum’. Jayarajan has sought an apology from DC Books, for announcing the release of his autobiography without his consent. The legal notice has been sent to the CEO of DC Books  through advocate K Vishwan.

“It was the DC Books, which leaked out a text saying it as the portions from autobiography. The autobiography of EP Jayarajan has not been completed, yet. The circulation of the leaked portion of the autobiography was done with an intention of maligning EP Jayarajan on election day. This was also done with an intention to provide ammunition to the political opponents in the byelection”, the notice said.

“DC Books should withdraw all posts related to the autobiography and should tender an apology, once they receive the legal notice. If they refuse to apologise, civil and criminal proceedings would be taken against DC Books”, the notice said.

Now, it should be seen how DC books would react to this legal notice. EP Jayarajan had also lodged a complaint with the DGP saying that a conspiracy was hatched against him to malign his name among the people of Kerala by spreading false news. The complaint was e mailed to DGP, EP said earlier.

It was on Wednesday morning that the controversy had erupted putting both the LDF and EP Jayarajan on the backfoot on the byelection day.

Meanwhile, DC Books, the publishing house, released a statement explaining that the release of EP Jayarajan’s autobiography, titled Kattan Chayayum Parippu Vadayum, has been postponed due to technical reasons. “More details about the content of the book will be revealed when it is officially published,” they said in a Facebook post.
