Global LPG and aviation crises are causing widespread event cancellations in Kerala. The wedding and corporate event sectors are facing severe financial instability.

Kochi: The Event Management Association Kerala (EMAK) has sought the urgent intervention of the government and political parties as the global LPG and aviation crises, triggered by war, severely impact the state's event management and allied sectors. The Association stated that the current situation is devastating the industry at a time when the wedding season and corporate conferences are in full swing.
Food being the primary component of any event and due to the current unavailability of required LPG, many events are getting canceled. Furthermore, the recent surge in destination weddings in Kerala has been hit hard by frequent flight cancellations and high airfares. This has led many clients from outside the state, who were interested in hosting events in Kerala, to withdraw from their plans. Association officials pointed out that these crises are threatening the livelihoods of nearly 300,000 workers connected to the event industry in Kerala.
In light of this, EMAK demanded that the government, relevant authorities, and various political parties take immediate notice and implement swift solutions. These concerns were raised during the EMAK State General Body meeting held at Club Mahindra, Arookutty, where State President Raju Kannampuzha, General Secretary Behannan K. Areekal, and Treasurer Praveen Chandran assessed the current situation.
