Kochi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Thavanur MLA MK Muneer and Muslim League Leader PK Kunhalikutty on Tuesday in connection with a case on financial irregularity in Chandrika daily.
Muneer is one among the board of directors of Chandrika daily. Earlier, Muneer had given statements before the ED in connection with the case. It is believed that the ED summoned again to have more clarity on it.
Muneer was reportedly asked to reveal more information regarding Chandrika's financial dealings. Meanwhile, Kunhalikutty was questioned in the wake of the allegations tabled by KT Jaleel in connection with the case.
Muneer was questioned for hours before he left for Thiruvananthapuram to attend the assembly session. ED is conducting a detailed investigation into the case after a complaint was received that about Rs 10 crores was laundered into Chandrika's Kochi account during the period of demonetisation in the country. The complainant also claimed that the money was received by VK Ebrahimkunju in connection with the Palarivattom flyover scam.
