Kochi: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has been quizzing Bineesh Kodiyeri--son of former CPM Kerala State Secretary of CPM, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. According to reports, quizzing started on Wednesday morning and has not yet concluded.

ED sources claimed that he is quizzed as a part of alleged Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violations of certain companies. 

ED in 2020 arrested Bineesh in connection with a Bengaluru drug bust case. According to ED, Bineesh along with Anoop Muhammed, the accused in the drug trafficking case, had laundered drug trade profit. ED also said that Bineesh had acquired wealth from illegitimate sources. Following this, he was arrested on October 29, 2020. Later, he was released on conditional bail.
