Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: The Kerala Police have introduced a high-tech system called ‘Eagle Eye’ to bring down drones flying without authorisation.

Developed by the police drone forensic division, the system is designed to detect and neutralise illegally operating drones.

The vehicle-mounted anti-drone system can detect drones within a five-kilometre radius and collect complete information about it. If a drone is found flying in a restricted area, Eagle Eye can take control of it and remove it from the location. Using a GPS jammer, the system can safely bring down drones and render them inoperative.

Information about the captured drones and their owners is collected through forensic analysis. Legal action will be taken if the drones are used for unlawful purposes.

Additionally, the system can destroy drones mid-air using laser technology if needed.

The anti-drone vehicle is expected to be primarily deployed in high-security zones and during VIP visits to enhance surveillance and safety.
