Kozhikode: Dr V Venu has officially assumed the role of Director and Curator of the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL) 2026.

A former Chief Secretary of Kerala, Dr Venu brings with him a distinguished career in public service. He has held several key positions, including State Tourism Secretary, Union Tourism Secretary, Joint Secretary at the Union Ministry of Culture, Head of the National Museum in Delhi, CEO of the Rebuild Kerala Initiative, and Secretary of the Home Department.

In addition to his administrative career, Dr Venu is also the Chairperson of the Kochi Biennale Foundation. He is a multi-faceted personality—an actor, theatre artist, and writer.

He is married to Sarada Muraleedharan, also a former Chief Secretary.
