Kochi, Kerala: A stray dog was found with a severe cut wound on its face near SN Junction in Nettoor, Kochi, prompting a complaint to the police seeking action against those responsible.
The dog was discovered in a critically injured condition seven days ago. It was initially given first aid and is currently undergoing treatment at Dr Zoo Pet Hospital in Vyttila.
According to local residents, the dog had been struggling to eat despite being fed by people in the area. The injury was so severe that its teeth were exposed through the wound, making it difficult for the animal to consume food.
The dog was rescued by P.T. Jacob, a resident of Nettoor. After receiving preliminary treatment at a government veterinary hospital, the animal was shifted to Dr Zoo Pet Hospital for further care.
The dog's condition remains critical, and doctors expect treatment to continue for about a month. Jacob is bearing the cost of the treatment.
Jacob has filed a complaint with Panangad Police, demanding that those responsible for the dog's injuries be identified and brought to justice.
