Kozhikode: A doctor was attacked at Thamarassery Taluk Hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala. Dr Vipin, who was on duty at the hospital, was hacked on the head.
The attacker, Sanoop, father of a nine-year-old girl who died of amoebic meningoencephalitis in Thamarassery, has been taken into police custody. The doctor’s injuries are reported to be serious. The attack was reportedly triggered by allegations that his daughter did not receive adequate treatment.
Sanoop’s daughter, Anaya, passed away on August 14 after contracting amoebic meningoencephalitis. When her fever worsened, she was initially taken to Thamarassery Taluk Hospital and later to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, but her condition could not be saved.
