Thiruvananthapuram: K.S. Sabarinathan, Congress leader and husband of Divya S Iyer, has responded to his wife’s Facebook post congratulating K.K. Ragesh, who was elected as the CPM Kannur district secretary. While acknowledging that the compliments showered upon Ragesh may have been well-intentioned, he said they were inappropriate.
“While it is not wrong for a government official to appreciate the government and its policies, it is a different matter when it comes to congratulating someone who has received a political appointment,” he said. Sabarinathan added that he does not agree with government officials praising or criticising political leaders.
Sabarinathan has come up with his response to the ongoing controversy as Divya’s Facebook post praising K.K. Ragesh on his appointment as district secretary of Kannur CPM has kicked up a controversy, with many Youth Congress leaders expressing their displeasure over her post.
"Even Karna would feel envious of this KKR shield. I have closely observed his official life over the past three years and have witnessed countless admirable qualities in him. A textbook of loyalty. An inkwell of hard work!", Divya wrote in her facebook post.
