Wayanad: Denying allegations that he neglected to notify Sidharthan's parents of his death, Dean M K Narayanan of Pookode Veterinary and Animal Sciences College clarified that he had specifically requested their friend to convey the unfortunate news to the family. He asserted that any contrary reports are false.
“The incident took place at around 1.30 am. I reached the spot within 10 minutes and took all measures to shift Sidharthan to hospital immediately and save his life. The college’s official vehicle was not there at that time. So I travelled in a student’s vehicle and followed the ambulance,” he said.
“He was taken to the Vythiri Taluk Hospital. However, we failed to save his life” adding that within ten minutes of the doctor declaring his death, he took all measures to inform his parents before going to meet the doctor for further measures.
“Sidharthan’s family friend and former student of the veterinary college Krishnakanth was asked to convey the sad news to his parents. Krishnakanth, who is an MD doctor, had accompanied Sidharthan during his time of admission. I had asked Krishnakanth to contact Sidharthan’s uncle Shibu and inform the news to his parents. News claiming that the dean had not intervened in any matter are false,” he claimed.
He also added that the Dean has no direct dealings with the hostel and that his job is not security service.
