Perambra: A 26-year-old woman who had gone missing on Monday was found dead in a canal near the Muliyangal-Valoor area on Tuesday. According to Perambra police, the deceased is Valur Kurungudi Meethal Anu (26).
The mortal remains of Anu was discovered in the canal near Primary Health Care Centre, Nochad, on Tuesday around 12 p.m. as it was seen got stuck along with other garbage in the canal. The police team led by Perambra DySP K. M. Biju and inspector M. A. Santhosh, reached the location. After an inquisition by P Rekha, Land Acquisition Tahsildar, the mortal remains were sent to Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital for a postmortem. The area was inspected by a forensic team and a dog squad.
Her family members lodged a complaint with the police on Monday raising suspicions regarding an unnatural death. The body was discovered during the police investigation. The belongings of Anu were retrieved near the canal. The family has requested a comprehensive investigation.
Anu had left her home to go to the hospital with her husband, Prajil Raj, and was waiting for him. When her husband arrived at the location, she was not there. Later, after enquiring at the hospital, a missing complaint was lodged at the police station.
