Oommen Chandy's daughter Achu Oommen has lodged a complaint stating that attempts are made to insult her femininity, both through social media and at party platforms. She has accused the Left supported social media handles for cyberbullying.

Achu Oommen has filed complaint against a former employee of the Secretariat with the Women’s Commission, as well as to the Cyber Cell, and the Poojappura Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram. She stated in the complaint that she has been portrayed negatively through social media.

Achu Oommen emphasised that no woman should be subjected to such humiliation for political interests and hence she has come forward to deal with it legally.
