Customs officials carry out marathon raid in jewelleries in Kozhikode

The Customs had raided a wholesale centre in Palayam on Thursday and taken a person into custody. The raid carried out on Friday was on the basis of the person's statement.

Kozhikode: The Customs officials are continuing the raids in the city in connection with the gold smuggling case. The officials raided the Marshad and New Marshad jewellery shops at Kammath Lane here on Friday morning.

The Customs raided a wholesale centre in Palayam on Thursday and a person was taken into custody. The raid carried out on Friday was on the basis of the person's statement. They also conducted raid at the house of Samju in Eranhikkal who was already arrested.

The Customs is actively raiding many places in Kozhikode in connection with the gold smuggling case. They had seized the entire collection of gold from the jewellery Hessa Gold in Arakkinar in a raid conducted two weeks ago.
