Kozhikode: Traffic restrictions will be enforced across Kozhikode city on Tuesday in connection with a large-scale public rally organised by the CPM at Kozhikode Beach. Vehicle movement towards the beach area will be restricted from 3 pm until 10 pm.

Vehicles arriving from the Elathur side must pass over the Vengali overbridge and enter the city via West Hill Chungam. Heavy vehicles, including goods lorries and container trucks, must divert via the Venghalam and Pooladikunnu highways.


Parking and route arrangements for rally attendees

From Kannur: Vehicles arriving from the Kannur side via Vengali should proceed through the Puthiyappa–Vellayil Beach Road, drop passengers at the Gandhi Road Junction, and park at Bhatt Road–Puthiyappa (North Beach) area.

From Perambra, Kuttiady and Balussery: Vehicles coming via Eranjipalam and Nadakkavu must turn right at Christian College Junction, proceed via Gandhi Road Junction to drop passengers at Vellayil Harbour and park at the ground near the Trade Centre in Sarovaram.

From Ramanattukara, Feroke and Meenchanda: Vehicles should turn left at Pushpa Road Junction, cross the Francis Road Overbridge, drop passengers at the Sea Queen Hotel Junction, and return to park near Kothi Beach.

From city area: Vehicles must route via Eranjipalam and Nadakkavu to drop passengers at Christian College East Junction, returning to park at PV’s Ground near Sarovaram Junction.

Strict controls will be enforced on all goods vehicles heading towards the beach sector. Police have urged the public and drivers to use alternative routes and cooperate with traffic regulations. Passengers heading to Kozhikode Railway Station or Calicut International Airport are advised to plan their journeys according to the diversions.
