Koyilandy (Kozhikode): A private bus collided with a car transporting CPM Kozhikode District Secretary P. Mohanan and K.K. Dinesan, District Secretary of the Kerala State Karshaka Thozhilali Union (KSKTU). The incident occurred around 4 pm on Monday as they were travelling from Kozhikode to Koyilandy.
The accident took place on the newly constructed service road at Vettilappara in Chemanchery. The bus, identified as ‘King Kogar,’ was en route from Kozhikode to Kannur when it struck the rear of the car, which was being driven by Sunil. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, although the rear of the car sustained damage.
The collision resulted in a brief traffic jam in the area. The Koyilandy police responded promptly to manage the situation. This incident underscores the hazardous driving practices on service roads, which remain narrow and incomplete in several sections. Despite these conditions, buses often overtake other vehicles, creating dangerous situations.
