Kochi: CPM has officially dismissed the allegations of their involvement in the death of Deepu, a Twenty20 activist in Kizhakkambalam. 

CPM district secretariat member CB Devadarshan said that Twenty20 was politically using the situation to get over their failure in the assembly elections. 

He told the media that the CPM had no role in Deepu's murder and dismissed all allegations levelled against the party.

Earlier, Twenty20 chief coordinator Sabu M Jacob had cast allegations against the CPM in the incident. Four CPM activists were charged with murder. It was in this context that the party came forward with an explanation.
