Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the Covid restrictions in the state will be intensified due to the surge in the Covid cases here. Strict curbs will be imposed in the state from May 4 to 9 on the basis of certain criteria. Details of this will be informed later, the CM said in a press meet after the Covid review meeting.

Shooting of TV serials will be stopped temporarily. Merchants in vegetable and fish markets should maintain a distance of 2 metres and use gloves. They should give priority to home delivery of goods. The public can send list of wanted items via WhatsApp so that delivery boys can bring them to households.

Oxygen war rooms will be set up in district level and state level to ensure oxygen supply for Covid patients. Covid war rooms will include police, health workers, transport department, disaster management departments.

District collectors will collect the details of oxygen distribution in each district. Industries secretary also will be included in the committee which was formed for ensuring oxygen supply, so that the industrial firms also can be connected.

No interruption should be allowed in the transport of oxygen to various places. Police should intervene in this. An oxygen emergency sticker should be pasted on the vehicles which carries oxygen cylinders. The sticker should be placed on the vehicles which transport medicines and medical supply, the CM directed.
