Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has changed the course of action in COVID-19 treatment. From now on, only antigen test result is required for discharging the patients who are under COVID treatment in hospitals. Earlier, they were discharge only after getting RT-PCR test result.

As the number of patients in the state increases day by day, the test results are delayed. The decision was taken with an intention to discharge the recovered patients at the earliest.

The result of antigen test can be obtained within 30 minutes. With this, the patients can be discharged shortly after confirming their recovery. The health department has issued the order in this regard.
