
Thiruvananthapuram: It has been decided to form micro containment zones including a few houses near the residence of COVID patients. The restrictions in the area will be strict. A cluster will be formed including only the patient's house and premises. Other places will be allowed to function normally, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed.
It is suspected that there is a sudden decline in the caution practiced in the state. People are crowded on roads and shops fail to practice social distancing. Use of soap and sanitizer has also decreased in public places. Action will be taken against this carelessness, he added.
Many people are going to government offices via car pooling or sharing vehicles. A group of people are hiring a vehicle for travelling to offices. These journeys should not be stopped and the passengers should not be put into difficulty, the chief minister said.
District Special Branch DySPs and Assistant Commissioners are assigned to monitor if the people in quarantine are violating the rules or going out. This is in addition to the mobile beat patrolling of the Janamaithri police. Case was charged against 18 persons who violated quarantine, the chief minister stated.
