
Kollam: The test results of 11 persons who were in contact with the Prakkulam native from here have come out negative.
Out of the 24 samples collected, results of 11 came out negative on Monday noon. The 11 are the doctor who treated the COVID-19 patient at a PHC, a nurse, the driver of an autorickshaw in which the patient travelled and 8 co-passengers on the flight. Test results of over 60 persons are still awaited.
Out of the people who had contact with the COVID-19 patient, 73 are in the high risk category while 56 are in the low risk category. Meanwhile, test results of the patient’s close relatives are awaited. They spent the most amount of time with the patient.
In the last few days, there were fake news campaigns on social media stating that 19 persons, who were in close contact with the patient had tested negative for COVID-19. The district collector has decided to probe the matter.
