
Thrissur: The coronavirus is rapidly spreading in Thrissur Medical College as 44 inmates of the general ward and 37 bystanders were tested positive recently. Nearly 50 nurses are already under treatment for Covid-19.
Unscientific management of the Covid-19 duty shifts of the health workers led to the spread of the virus, sources suggest.
The health workers in the Covid-19 wards are returning to duty after two days off without any taking COVID test while the negative certificate is mandatory for the non-Covid-19 patients and their bystanders.
As many as 45 MBBS students and 10 PG students of the college tested positive recently. They were working in various wards.
The college hostel was closed and the exams were conducted online.
It is learned that the health workers are having a difference of opinion in the allotment of Covid-19 duty shifts.
