Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that an arrangement has been made to deliver medicines to expatriates from Kerala.

"DHL courier service company has informed NORKA Roots of their willingness to deliver medicines to Keralites abroad. They will deliver medicines through door to door service," CM said while briefing the media on the coronavirus situation in the state.

If medicines and bills are delivered at DHL Kochi office, they will take up packing the packets and deliver it door to door. DHL has informed that their offices at districts that are not included in the red zone will be functional in two days, the CM added.

At the same time, the CM also said that random antibody tests will be conducted among those working in essential services including health workers, police personnel, delivery boys, volunteers and migrant labourers. This is to ensure that there is no community transmission of coronavirus, CM added.

Meanwhile, a special financial aid of Rs 23 crore has been approved for special schools in the state. The aid will be distributed classifying schools under A to D grades.

Rs 14 crore has been approved for 12,500 Khadi labourers. This would come to the benefit of spinning and weaving labourers.

The CM also added that permission will be given for weddings at Christian churches with a maximum of 20 people in attendance.
