Kollam: A person, who just returned from the Gulf region picked up a quarrel with health workers who tried to instruct him and his family regarding the coronavirus preventive actions. The man was provoked when officials tried to contact him over the phone to give him guidelines. He started the verbal spat claiming he is not affected with COVID-19.
The man also asked the health workers to step out of his house. He also challenged the officials to take any action against him for this behaviour. Following the incident, a case was charged against the troublemakers based on the Public Health Act. Mathrubhumi News received a video of the incident that took place on Saturday.
The family arrived from the Gulf region on March 14 and reached Kundara from Thiruvananthapuram airport. The health department officials found out that they visited places like Kollam and Kundara and went shopping in malls. Following this, the health workers and police went to their house.
The health officers had instructed him over the phone on Friday that they should remain indoors for 14 days. But they did not follow the instructions. On knowing this, the officers visited their house. However, the person claimed that he did not receive any warning at the airport and that he is not affected with coronavirus.
