Kochi: In a startling revelation, self-styled antique dealer Monson Mavunkal disclosed in the court that police had forced him to name K Sudhakaran in the POCSO case.
Monson alleged that police officials asked him to issue a statement declaring that he accepted Rs 25 lakh from the complainant as payment for Sudhakaran. Further, he claimed that investigating team also forced him to name Sudhakaran in the POCSO case.
Days after he was convicted in a POCSO case, Monson appeared before the court on Monday for the hearing in a cheating case filed against him. The court has directed the jail superintendent to submit his statements in writing.
He added that cops threatened him and spoke misappropriately about his wife. He also alleged that he was not treated well in jail and was denied food.
