Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has instructed cooperative societies to find funds for successfully conducting the ‘Navakerala Sadas’, in full grandeur. An order has been issued in this regard as well.
Cooperative societies have been asked to contribute funds for the government’s outreach programme within their respective capacities.
The registrar of the cooperative department has issued an order granting approval to the governing councils of respective local self-government institutions to spend money for the programme. While every gram panchayat is expected to spend an amount of up to Rs 50,000 for conducting the event, municipalities and block panchayats are expected to pitch in with a maximum amount of Rs 1 lakh each for the purpose. While a single corporation can contribute up to Rs 2 lakhs, a district panchayat can shell out a maximum of Rs 3 lakh for ‘Navakerala Sadas’.
The local self-government institutions can use their funds for conducting the mega event highlighting the achievements of the LDF government so far, in their respective assembly constituencies.
