Kochi: KPCC general secretary Deepthi Mary Varghese on Thursday refuted allegations that dubious middlemen T G Nandakumar had raised against her. While speaking to the mathrubhumi.com team, Deepthi said Nandakumar keeps on changing his statements. She noted that the Congress leadership has faith in her and they know the legitimacy of allegations made by Nandakumar.
Earlier today, Nandakumar claimed that Deepthi voted against Congress candidate Uma Thomas during the 2022 Thrikkakara bypoll. According to Nandakumar, she had met LDF convenor E P Jayarajan and discussed the affiliation swapping plan. He even alleged that she sent EP a picture of her VVPAT slip after voting to gain their trust.
Nandakumar came up with allegations after Deepthi claimed that Nandakumar approached her with EP to join CPM during the Thrikkakara by-election. Deepthi said that Jayarajan is functioning as a recruiting agent. She added that she won't budge, even if it is offered by someone like party general secretary Sitaram Yechury.
