She slammed Sunil Kanugolu for reportedly planning election strategies aimed at spreading falsehoods to create public resentment against opposition parties and their leaders.

Alappuzha: Congress has become a copycat of the BJP when it comes to spreading falsehoods to win votes, alleged K.K. Shailaja, MLA and Vice President of the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA). She was speaking at the inauguration of the association’s district conference.
Shailaja warned that the party should be prepared to carefully counter lies propagated by Congress.
"Reports indicate that Sunil Kanugolu (Congress poll strategist) attended the leadership camp in Wayanad and planned election strategies. Kanugolu's doctrine is spreading falsehoods to create public resentment against rival parties and their leaders," she said.
“By lying about democratic government and vilifying its leaders, Congress attempts to alienate them from the people,” she claimed.
She also cautioned that if the LDF government is removed from power, social welfare schemes such as welfare pension and Life Mission could be undermined.
Regarding the Sabarimala gold smuggling case, Shailaja added that the government and party have made it clear that no wrongdoing by Padmakumar will be accepted.
Shailaja’s comments gain even more significance against the backdrop of the major setback faced by the CPM, and more broadly the LDF, in the recently concluded Kerala local body polls.
