Kozhikode: Congress MP K Muraleedharan said that his party is always afraid of those who "read a write." He was speaking at an event hosted to remember his father and former Kerala chief minister K Karunakaran.

Muraleedharan had recently come out in support of Shashi Tharoor while slamming Ramesh Chennithala for the remarks against the Thiruvananthapuram MP.

He added that he won't interfere in KPCC reorganisation and called for qualified people to be appointed in party ranks.

Reacting to the recent comment of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan that a prominent leader would join BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections, he said, "Nobody in Congress will join BJP. The party won't succeed in Kerala under the leadership of V Muraleedharan and K Surendran. Pinarayi Vijayan is cooperating with the union government and is lying to win minority votes.”
