Alappuzha: In a tragic incident, two construction workers lost their lives when a concrete roof of a newly constructed house collapsed at Thazhakara in Mavelikkara here. The deceased have been identified as Suresh (52) from Chettikulangara and Anandan (55) from Mavelikkara. 

The accident occurred at 2:30 pm on Friday.

The workers were engaged in renovating the roof when the concrete structure caved in. Despite the swift response from the fire force that led the rescue operation, neither of them could be saved.
Both of them died before shifting to hospital.
