Actor Soubin Shahir and others face fraud charges in the `Manjummel Boys` film case.

Kochi: The complainant in the financial fraud case involving the film ‘Manjummel Boys,’ Siraj Valiyathura, has alleged that the film’s producers engaged in an organised crime. His claim was made while opposing the anticipatory bail plea filed by the accused. He argued that custodial interrogation of the accused was necessary.
The case, registered by the Maradu Police, names actor Soubin Shahir, his father Babu Shahir, and Shawn Antony, partners in Parava Films, as the accused. The bail application will be heard again on Thursday, with Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas presiding over the matter.
The Maradu Police had earlier issued a notice summoning the accused for questioning. However, as the bail plea remains under judicial consideration, the court granted them time until Friday.
According to the complaint, the producers allegedly accepted ₹7 crore from Siraj after promising to make him a production partner in ‘Manjummel Boys,’ but failed to honour the agreement. The High Court recently allowed the investigation to continue, prompting the police to issue the summons.
