Mannancherry showcases religious harmony as a mosque announced the death of a Hindu man, Mohanan, demonstrating strong community bonds beyond religious divides.

Mannancherry (Alappuzha, Kerala): Mannancherry has once again set an example of religious harmony, this time through a death announcement.
Mohanan, also known as Kuttan (64), a coconut climber living near the mosque, died on Monday morning after suffering chest pain following his morning walk. Mosque office-bearers nearby rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be saved.
Immediately after his death, the mosque management committee decided to announce the news through its public microphone system. The announcement was made by the mosque’s joint secretary, Chakkanad Abdul Jabbar.
Committee members said the gesture reflected the deep friendships in the locality that go beyond caste and religious divides. They added that more than 30 families, including Mohanan’s, maintained close ties with the mosque and regularly extend support during special events there.
