Thiruvananthapuram: In a new update to the case pertaining to the alleged nepotism in the distribution of the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF), the petitioner on Saturday requested the Lok Ayukta to postpone the hearing of the case. The request was filed by advocate P Subair Kunju for RS Sasikumar, the petitioner. The case is scheduled for hearing before a three-member bench of the Lok Ayukta on Monday.
Earlier, a decision taken by a three member-bench over the validity of the case a year ago was referred to the full bench. Following this, the petitioner moved the high court questioning the decision and the petition is still pending before the court.
Following this, a request was placed before the Lok Ayukta seeking to postpone the hearing, as directed by the high court. The division bench of the high court that had heard the case also instructed the director general of prosecution, who appeared for the Lok Ayukta, in this regard.
The case will be heard by a full bench comprising Lok Ayukta, Justice (Rtd) Cyriac Joseph, Justice (Rtd) Harun Al Rashid and Justice Babu Mathew P Joseph. The hearing of the case has been postponed for 10 days by the high court.
