CM too involved in appointment row; will move legally, says V Muraleedharan

New Delhi: Union Minister of State V Muraleedharan said that he would move legally in connection with the appointment row in which K T Jaleel resigned after the Lokayuktha found him guilty of abusing power. Muraleedharan also alleged that chief minister has a hand in the appointment. He was speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi on Thursday.

Not only Jaleel, even the chief minister is involved in the appointment row and though Jaleel has resigned taking moral responsibility, why is the CM still holding on? The CM is bound to give a reply in legal framework, he said.

Muraleedharan also added that the CM is remaining mute on the allegations and is not ready to give a reply.

Jaleel had mentioned about his close links with the chief minister. “Why is the chief minister remaining silent when a minister from his cabinet quits. The CM has taken such a stand as he knows he too will be implicated if he says Jaleel is guilty of crime. Why did he not initiate a Vigilance probe against the minister? When a similar allegation arose, a Vigilance probe was conducted against Jayarajan. The present stance is to conceal CM’s involvement in the crime ,” he said.
