He was admitted to the hospital due to various health issues, including diarrhea. A blood test was conducted and it confirmed the presence of cholera. Reports indicate that the patient is in critical condition.

With cholera being confirmed, water samples from wells and other water sources in the surrounding areas were collected for testing under the supervision of the health department and the panchayat.

Cholera is a bacterial disease that spreads through contaminated water and food. It can deteriorate rapidly due to severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration.

A loss of 10% or more of body weight is a sign of severe dehydration. Preventive measures include regularly washing hands with soap and water, drinking only clean water, using safe water even for brushing teeth, and consuming only thoroughly cooked and hot food. The bacteria are excreted through the stool of the infected person. If this contaminates water sources, it can lead to further spread.
