Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Thavanur MLA KT Jaleel met at Cliff House on Thursday morning ahead of the latter’s visit to Enforcement Directorate (ED) office to submit evidence against Muslim League leaders on the money laundering case associated with Chandrika daily.

Earlier, the CM snubbed his demand for an ED probe against Kunhalikutty over his alleged black money deposits at AR Nagar Cooperative Bank. However, Jaleel later told mathrubhumi.com that he had not sought an ED probe on AR Nagar bank but on the case associated with Chandrika daily.

After meeting the CM, Jaleel left for Kochi ED office. “I will present before the ED office at 4 pm. ED had approached me seeking clarification on my submission in the assembly about a financial irregularity worth Rs 10 crores at Chandrika daily; not something associated with AR Nagar bank,” said Jaleel.

He also said that all documents will be submitted before the officials of ED. “If officers ask me anything about AR Nagar issue, I won’t hesitate to comment.”

Jaleel also said that the Reserve Bank of India and Income Tax Department have been inquiring the irregularities at AR Nagar bank. “Let these agencies complete the probe.”

Meanwhile, Jaleel said in a Facebook post, “The left democratic government under the leadership of Pinarayi Vijayan has been taking a strict stance against corruption and other money laundering cases. My fight to expose the real image of Kunhalikutty will continue.”
