New Delhi: Believers Eastern Church Save Forum has filed a counter petition in the Supreme Court in connection with the High Court’s stance on Cheruvally Estate case. The Kerala High Court had cancelled the clause that enabled the government to take over the Cheruvally estate by remitting the compensation amount in the court.
The counter petition was filed through Advocate VK Biju demanding SC should listen to their arguments as well, if the state government files appeal against the HC order.
The High Court cancelled the clause in the government order, which instructed the district collector to remit the compensation amount in court, the other day.
The order was released by the government on June 18 as there were arguments regarding the ownership of the land. The High Court’s decision was based on the petition filed by Ayana Charitable Trust, which is under the control of Believers church.
