Kannur: In a tragic and shocking incident, an elderly couple was found dead with severe burn injuries at their home in Alavil, Kannur. The deceased have been identified as Premarajan and his wife, Sreelekha.
According to preliminary reports, the bodies were discovered in a charred condition. Sreelekha was reportedly the niece of Kerala Minister A.K. Saseendran, further drawing attention to the case.
The incident came to light on Thursday evening when the couple’s driver arrived at the residence and received no response despite repeated attempts to call out. On further inspection, he discovered the burnt remains of the couple inside the house.
Valapattanam Police arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation. The couple’s children are said to be residing abroad. The exact cause of death remains unknown. Further details are expected to emerge following post-mortem examinations.
