Kerala government has strengthened the security arrangements in dams across the state.

Thiruvananthapuram: Following a central government alert, a security warning has been issued for dams across the state. Police deployment has been increased at all dams to enhance security. This includes both power generation and irrigation dams.
The decision to increase security at all dams in the state follows a central government alert. The move comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which strained India-Pakistan relations. In this context, a mock drill is scheduled to be conducted in various states on Thursday, prompting the enhancement of dam security.
From today onwards, police deployment at the dams has been increased. Police have also been deployed at KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) stations and power generation facilities. The government has said that the additional security deployment will continue until the central security alert is withdrawn.
