The error occurred when one of the three submitted question paper sets was a duplicate of the previous year's, a mistake missed during internal checks.

Kozhikode: Calicut University on Thursday acknowledged that a question paper used in the recent Undergraduate Multi-Disciplinary Course (MDC) examination was a repeat from a previous year. Officials said the issue involved the ‘Art of Stress Management’ exam for first-semester MDC Psychology students held on November 25, where the question paper content was identical to the 2024 exam except for the year printed on it.
The matter came to light after students and teachers raised concerns about the repetition. University authorities said no formal complaint has been received yet, but the issue will be referred to the Board of Studies for a decision on conducting a fresh examination.
Usually, examiners submit three different sets of question papers, but one set mistakenly duplicated last year’s paper. The error was not caught during the cross-checking process, which officials said is a confidential procedure.
