
Kollam: Four fishermen were killed and 22 others were injured in a road accident here in Chavara. The incident took place on Tuesday at around 12.30 am.
The workers were travelling from Vizhinjam to Beypore for fishing. The van in which they were travelling collided with a lorry carrying fish to Neendakara. There were 34 people inside the van that was involved in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Pulluvila natives Karunambaram (56) and Barkumans (45), Vizhinjam native Justin (56) and Tamil Nadu native Biju (35).

Two of the injured, Marthandam native Roy and Vizhinjam native Varghese are in critical condition. They were admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
20 other injured have been admitted to Karunagappally Taluk Hospital. Twelve of the victims involved in the accident are from Tamil Nadu.
