The CPM has decided not to extend the term of Travancore Devaswom Board President PS Prasanth

Thiruvananthapuram: The term of Travancore Devaswom Board President PS Prasanth will not be extended. According to reports, former MP A. Sampath and former MLA T. K. Devakumar are among those shortlisted. Vilappil Radhakrishnan has been chosen as the CPI representative on the board. The CPM’s final decision is expected to be announced tomorrow.
Earlier reports indicated that the CPM state secretariat had decided to extend Prasanth’s tenure by another year, as his term was due to end on November 10. The development came amid opposition calls for his resignation over the Sabarimala gold robbery case.
The CPM’s latest decision marks a shift, signalling a change in leadership at a politically sensitive time for the Travancore Devaswom Board.
