Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said here on Thursday that cooperation of the people is essential for resolving the COVID cases which spread from unidentified sources. Everyone should maintain a 'Break the Chain' diary and record their travel history, he said in a press meet after COVID review meeting.

People should record the number of vehicles the travelled in, time of journey, name of hotel they went, time of entry and similar details in a diary or phone. If they are confirmed with the disease, this will help find out the places they have visited and the people with whom they came in contact, the chief minister said.

According to the statistics of the Disaster Management Authority, a huge number of COVID cases are likely to be reported in Kerala by the end of August. This was calculated based on the current situation in the state. The number can be larger or smaller than expected. In case of any lapses in the precautionary steps, the number can be very large, he said.

All should follow the restrictions and offer complete support to the government. People should sincerely follow the 'Break the Chain' rules and should not compromise in washing hands, wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, the chief minister said.
