Attapadi: In a shocking incident, a tenth standard student killed himself for not having a new mobile phone. The deceased is Kallamala native Abhijit. He hanged on a swing in the open yard in front of his house on Sunday night.

His parents informed that he had demanded for a new mobile phone which they declined.

Abhijit was a student of Mount Carmel school at Jellipara in Attapadi.

He had undergone counselling when his parents had found that he had got addicted to PUBG game. But even after this, he allegedly kept on demanding mobile phone for playing games. Abhijit was staying with his mother Bindhu who was living separated from her husband. Due to financial distress, Bindhu had declined her son’s request for a new phone and promised to buy one after sometime.
