Thiruvananthapuram: The Postal Department will deliver the kits containing holy offerings from Sabarimala temple to the households. The kit containing Aravana, ghee, turmeric, vermilion, Vibhoothi and other holy offerings (Prasadam) is priced Rs 450.
Named 'Swamiprasadam', the kit can be booked through e-payment from any post office in the country. The kit will be delivered through speed post. Booking starts from Friday onwards. Kits will be sent from November 16. The Devaswom Board will get Rs 250 from the price of kit and the rest of the amount goes to the postal department.
The Devaswom Board will bring the holy offering from Sannidhanam to Pamba. The postal department will receive it from Pamba and deliver to the address within 3 days. The postal department will display the notification regarding this in different languages in the post offices in south Indian states.
The Kerala circle of the postal department has inked an agreement with the Travancore Devaswom Board. Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran inaugurated the online booking of 'Swamiprasadam' kits. Chief Postmaster General V Rajarajan, Devaswom Commissioner B S Thirumeni and Postal Service Director Syed Rasheed attended the ceremony.
