Thiruvananthapuram: A bomb threat was received via Facebook Messenger on the Kerala Police’s account, targeting Thampanoor railway station and Nedumbassery airport. Authorities traced the message to Telangana and have launched investigations, with bomb squads conducting checks at both locations.
The message warned that bombs had been planted at several key sites, including Nedumbassery airport, and railway stations in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, and Ernakulam. The threat claimed that the devices would detonate within 36 hours. While there has been no disruption to services so far, investigations are underway to determine if the threat is genuine or a hoax. Special security meetings have been convened at the affected locations.
This comes two weeks after a similar bomb threat at a hotel behind Thiruvananthapuram railway station, which was later determined to be a false alarm.
