
Munnar: Forest department has registered a case against a tourist guide, who took the photo of a black panther.
According to Forest department officials, The case is taken against Anpuraj of Munnar on the grounds that the guide took tourists for trekking in a protected forest area. Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), R S Arun, gave instructions for the same. Following this, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ramesh Bishnoi reached Lakshmi Hills and conducted an investigation regarding the same.
The incident took place on Friday. Anpuraj spotted the black panther while trekking on a hill near Lakshmi estate with two German tourists. The tourists also caught a glimpse of the panther. It was seen in a meadow on the hilltop. The image went viral in Munnar region.
