The BJP councillors of the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation are scheduled to depart for Delhi on Monday at 12.30 pm by Kerala Express.

Thiruvananthapuram: R Sreelekha will not accompany the group of BJP councillors travelling to Delhi after accepting the Prime Minister’s invitation. Sreelekha has informed the leadership that it would be difficult for her to undertake a three-day train journey. It is reported that she will reach Delhi by flight on the day the Prime Minister hosts the dinner.
The BJP councillors of the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation are scheduled to depart for Delhi on Monday at 12.30 pm by Kerala Express. Councillors and municipal and panchayat presidents will be part of the group. The Prime Minister is hosting a dinner for elected representatives on February 12. The group travelling on the Kerala Express will be accorded reception in the states the train passes through.
Standing Committee member MR Gopan will also not be part of the group. It is reported that he has informed the BJP central leadership that he will be unable to travel due to his mother’s health issues.
R Sreelekha had earlier publicly expressed dissatisfaction over the Mayor post in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the capital, videos of Sreelekha standing isolated on the stage had gone viral. The issue was widely discussed on social media.
