Kayamkulam: In a Facebook post, BJP leader Bipin C. Babu extended an invitation to U. Prathibha, the MLA (CPM) of Kayamkulam, to join the BJP. The invitation came in the wake of his support for Prathibha in connection with a drug case in which her son was involved. Bipin C. Babu expressed his concerns over the treatment meted out to  Prathibha, saying that the MLA's party (CPM) had failed to support her and criticising the attacks made on her.

In his post, Bipin C. Babu pointed out that, "For the past two days, a mother and son have been slandered through the media. Through this, you are spoiling the future of nine children. Have you considered the emotional state of those children and their families?" He emphasised that, regardless of any mistakes, at least the feelings of motherhood should be respected.

He also shows condemnation of the way Prathibha was attacked, describing it as unacceptable. He said that even if there were any mistakes, it is essential to correct them and guide people toward better paths. Bipin further pointed out that those who should have supported her in this difficult time were nowhere to be seen.

In his conclusion, Bipin welcomed the MLA to join the BJP, saying, "I welcome my dear MLA to the nationalist party which always considers the future” .

Bipin C. Babu, who was once the leader of the CPM in Alappuzha, joined the BJP several months ago.
