Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government has launched a special project to ensure uninterrupted food supply for the impoverished bedridden persons in the state. The bedridden persons will get free ration supplies at their residences through the project ‘Oppam’ of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
Minister GR Anil will inaugurate the programme at Olloor in Thrissur on Monday.
The project will be first implemented in Thrissur with the support of autorickshaw drivers here. The auto rickshaw drivers have assured that they would supply the ration items free by auto and hand over the receipt signed by beneficiaries to the officials of the food department. It will be recorded in the E-POS machine after the examination by the rationing inspector.
